Hideaway at Royalton Riviera Cancun

This was my friend time going to Cancun and this is something I will never regret or forget. I've heard pretty negative things about Cancun where I need to be careful and watch out when drinking water, but my expectations were different. I was in the hideaway adults only section. But overall, all the places were super safe here in this resort and I was able to drink the water! But thats not the best part, the people there are super nice! they are very enthusiastic and very kind. The hotel itself is very beautiful. Two of the workers there really made my stay better who were Gonzalez and Eduardo Martinez. Gonzalez works at the pool bar in the regular Royalton area and Eduardo works at Gourmet Marche and he was super kind. Whenever my friend and I went to the pool or gourmet restaurant, we always stayed with them. To remind you, my friend and I could've stayed at the hideaway section but didn't because of Gonzalez. But overall, this place is absolutely amazing and the pictures to this place is very accurate. You won't believe it until you go there yourselves!

Highlights: The hotel overall was amazing! We really enjoyed our experience. The hotel was very clean and the rooms were beautiful! Just what we needed to enjoy a relaxing vacation. We booked a spa day for our anniversary and Patricia (Paty) and Alma are the best! We booked a couples massage and we walked out feeling refreshed, relaxed and peaceful. The massage was the perfect pressure and felt soooooooo good! Alejandra at the Diamond Club check in suite was excellent! Her customer service skills and warm spirit alone will bring us back to the resort. Evaristo was our butler for the week. He was also very sweet and tried his best to make us comfortable and ensure that our wants and needs were met. We were celebrating our 4 year wedding anniversary. He set up our room for a special romantic evening and it was absolutely perfect! Oh, I forgot to mention, as two married women, we felt so welcomed. We weren’t treated any differently and felt so much love from everyone on the team. We even ran into a few other same-sex couples during our stay. I would say the hotel was accommodating to the LGBTQ community. Challenges: The pressure of attending a presentation for Travel Smart. The treatment leading up to the presentation was amazing. The team tried to make you feel really good and expressed that there is no cost obligation. However, after the 90 minute presentation that interrupted our vacation that we paid for, we decided that the Travel Smart membership wasn’t a good fit for us. Once our decision was made, the feeling changed and we were no longer treated as nice by the presenter and closer. They made us regret our decision to listen to the presentation in the first place. Everyone at the front desk of Travel Smart was amazing though. In the end, they gave a nice gift that was worth the 90 minutes of our time. There were a lot of couples who did become members while we were there. Just not for us at the moment. Also, at the start of our spa day while enjoying a cool eye mask, the host removed our eye mask bombarding us with scrubs to smell and asking us if we wanted to purchase. This was a little off putting as we had not even experienced the scrubs yet. Once our massages were complete, we spoke to another member who took our comments constructively. Drink Quality: Mixed drinks could be a bit better quality. The mix used in most drinks tasted sugar-free. Go for the Mimosa or shots of your beverage of choice. Food Quality: Not bad for all inclusive. We are foodies so we are a bit tough on food quality. Our fav was Dorado (go there for breakfast and dinner) and Ocean Point (dinner). Make sure to make reservations for Ocean Point when you check in. They are really popular. Try the grilled crab legs from Dorado with melted butter. Yummmmmmm! Transfer to and from Airport: Fast, cool, affordable! We used Amstar. Once we landed we came out and were greeted by a rep who loaded our luggage and boarded us into the van. The van had AC, WiFi and ice cold beer! What more can you ask for?! We were in the van with one other couple each way. It took a quick 15-20 minutes to get to the resort and the same amount of time going back. To book the transfer back was a quick 5 minute call. You also have the option to book through hotel. Overall, the hotel and experience was amazing! From check in to check out we were treated like the queens that we are. We will return to the resort for sure!
