Location is fabulous with easy access to Powell Station and staff were pleasant. But rooms are worn and mine wasn't entirely clean (hairs on floor, smudges on doors and furniture). Everything feels a little worn and dated, from carpet to mini blinds in the bathroom to furniture. The room looked like it was decorated by a college kid moving into their first apt who grabbed some random things from the alley. I was only...

The hotel was very close to Union Square so was very conveniently located. The room was comfortable even if it was the smallest one we stayed in during our trip. It was good to have a safe, fridge and coffee maker, the fluffy dressing gowns were unexpected. Room is cleaned on alternate days which was ok as reception staff were able to provide more coffee etc when needed. There was a noisy air conditioning duct outsid...

When we arrived the room was smelly, the floor was not level and creaked.
We were tired and went and had dinner.
It was nt until we went to bed that we looked behind the blind and there was all vents pipes etc for motels heating/air con.
The noise was horrendous. Then at 100am the person in the next room had a shower or sounded like a freight train or an earthquake coming.
We got no sleep.

Clean, updated rooms and baths, great location, friendly staff. Rooms not big but adequate. Everything worked fine including shower water pressure, TV and internet. I recommend this moderately priced hotel one-half block from Powell Street and two blocks to Union Square and cable car turntable....
