Travel Insurance

Do I need travel insurance cover?

Yes, travel insurance is important and most leading tour operators will only accept your booking if you are adequately covered. If you choose not to purchase our insurance, we will ask you to agree to indemnify First Choice against any losses incurred by you as a result of being inadequately insured. Please check your policy meets all your requirements as some activities such as hot air ballooning, scuba diving and some mountain sports may be excluded. If your cover is insufficient for your needs, you travel at your own risk.

Will my insurance cover me if I choose to take part in excursions and extra activities on holiday?

We work with excursion suppliers to ensure that they operate to appropriate safety standards. However it is your responsibility to ensure that the policy you choose is appropriate for you, and for the type of activities you expect to be undertaking whilst on holiday. Should you decide to use an alternative supplier, we advise you to satisfy yourself that the legal cover and safety standards of the Insurance company you are choosing is adequate. Please read your Insurance policy carefully, and remember to carry it with you whilst on holiday.

What are the latest medical insurance requirements for travel to Cuba?

Cuban authorities require proof of medical insurance to gain entry to the country. It is essential that you have a copy of a valid travel insurance policy confirming your medical cover in your possession on arrival at the resort airport, so please ensure you keep this easily to hand with your travel documents and passport. If you arrive in Cuba without any proof of medical insurance cover you will be required to purchase this locally at the airport.
