Coastal city

Sardinia’s capital, Cagliari, is located right on the southern coast of Sardinia, offering the ideal mixture of historical sights and sandy white beaches. Head into the city and mooch around the winding cobbled streets, take in the traditional Italian culture and admire the pastel buildings and centuries-old churches. Cagliari is best-known for its citadel which sits perched up on the hillside, towering above the medieval city. Being on the coast, you’re not too far from some of Sardinia’s best beaches either, such as Poetta Beach – just a few steps from the city – with its 8km long stretch of white sand.
