Floating in the Indian Ocean over 1,500 kilometres from Africa's east coast, the Seychelles are seriously remote. Accessing this paradise is easiest by plane – you'll land in the capital city of Victoria, on Mahe Island. Once there, you can speed out by boat or hop in a helicopter to get to any of the other 115 islands.
Pure white, smooth-as-silk sands and endlessly blue sweeps of sky are the norm for these islands. One of the best beaches is Anse Source d'Argent, on the island of La Digue. Perfectly placed palm trees and alien rock formations have earned the place Instagram fame, but it's still downright dreamy – even with the admiring tourists.
These islands are home to jungles straight out of an adventure novel and coral reefs alive with colour – ideal for nature lovers. Named after the country's highest peak, Morne Seychellois National Park's a highlight. Keep your eyes peeled and you might spot bats the size of birds living in lush coastal mangroves here.
