City breaks to Vilnius

This city is packing a punch – think cobblestone streets, quirky street art and chill cafes where you can sip on some coffee. The nightlife is something else, with trendy bars and clubs that'll keep you dancing till dawn. Whether you're into history, culture, or just want to explore the city, Vilnius is ticking some serious boxes.

A tiny republic serving big vibes

You’ll need to pencil in a visit to the Republic of Uzupis – one of the smallest republics in the world, covering less than one square kilometre. What began as a tongue-in-cheek April Fools' Day joke has evolved into a culturally iconic part of Vilnius. The republic boasts its own president, government, constitution, and even a navy of small boats used for ceremonies. It’s an eclectic mix of Soviet Bloc architecture and artistic flair, with quirky shops, bars, and restaurants that make it a fun and unique spot to explore. The locals are super proud of their micro-nation, and it’s a must-visit for anyone looking to experience something truly different.

From prison to party

Check out the decommissioned prison in Vilnius, now a buzzing arts and culture spot. Just five years ago it was still a prison, with a history of Nazi and Soviet occupation, so it's packed with historical vibes. The guided tour is a wild ride through its dark past. After soaking up the grim stories, you can chill with a pint in the converted chapel, now a rave hotspot. This mix of old-school history and modern fun makes it a must-see if you’re into cool, unique experiences.
