Take a walk up to Alanya's Fortress
Buses regularly run to Alanya’s 13th-century fortress, but walk up and you’ll get a close-up of the walls studded with 140 towers – including the city’s most recognised landmark, the 5-storey Red Tower. And within the castle walls, you’ll see quaint houses, the city’s oldest mosque and a Byzantine church with a courtyard decorated with intricate frescoes.
