Arilas Wine Festival

More than 1,000 people flock here each year to drink the wine, eat the barbecued souvlaki – pork roasted on a skewer – and dance. It’s a celebration of the village’s time-honoured winemaking techniques – you’ll get to see grapes crushed underfoot in an open barrel. You buy a carafe for 3 euros, and have it refilled as often as you like. And if you’re not a vino fan, there’s Corfu beer on tap too.
