Taste a Sicilian speciality

You can pick up arancini in every corner of Italy, but its history began in Sicily in the 10th century. The story goes that the Sicilian people wrapped rice in fried breadcrumbs, to keep it fresher for longer. The traditional recipe for these balls is made up of rice, peas, cooked ham and a stewed pork sauce, wrapped in a thick coating of breadcrumbs. Today, there are hundreds of different flavours and you can even pick up a desert style ball – it’s filled with chocolate and rolled in cinnamon.
