Take a dip in the El Caletón natural pools
For a unique swimming experience, head out from Buenavista del Norte to the El Caletón natural pools. A volcanic eruption in the early 1700s turned this seafront spot into a series of pretty rock pools that you can swim in. They come in all different shapes and sizes – some are small and shallow enough for kids to paddle in, while others are deep enough for diving. Pathways and steps between them make the water easily accessible, and there are restaurants and bars nearby if you decide to make a day of it.
