Step back in time at Atros Monastery
Atros Monastery’s the oldest in Kefalonia, and it’s only a 15-minute drive from Poros. The medieval building stands about 760 metres above sea level, so you’ll get sweeping vistas of the village, the harbour and the sea. As you walk around the tower and grounds, keep an eye out for the old wine press and the blue-and-white well that once supplied the monastery with water.
