Taste French-inspired local favourites

There’s no denying the French influence in Senegal, especially when it comes to food. Wander along Saly’s main streets and you’ll find they’re packed with French restaurants and patisseries. Being a coastal town, it’s no surprise that seafood features heavily on the menus here, too. Try the national dish Thiéboudienne, sometimes called Poisson au Riz – a one-pot meal made with fish, vegetables, rice and a mixture of African spices.
