Bailey Profile PictureHiking Rosette

@baileyturvey

Hi! I’m Bailey, a travel content creator. I’m originally from Brighton in the UK, but I currently work remotely from all over the world. I've been lucky enough to travel to over six continents and 60 countries, which has spurred on my love for travel even more. I love nature and adventure travel – hiking in particular – along with adrenaline activities like bungee jumping and skydiving.

I’m always keen to go back to the same countries but always new places within that country each time – I think rushing through destinations as a tick box exercise can ruin the experience. I get super excited for my trips, so I like to research things to do and the best places to stay. But, I also like the sense of spontaneousness of what locals might recommend when I’m there. I’d say for shorter trips, I like a day-to-day itinerary, but for my longer ones I wing it a bit and see who I meet along the way.

Funchal, Madeira

If you’re looking for a summer trip that packs in loads of adventure without the sticky, sweltering heat, Madeira in July is your match – especially its capital, Funchal. With its cooler Atlantic breeze, you can hike along cliffside trails, set out on sunrise treks above the clouds, and still have energy left for whale-watching or a dip below its towering sea cliffs… Read Bailey’s full itinerary.

The Monte Toboggan ride
Get the cable car to the top of Funchal, where you can then get the famous Toboggan down. These are what locals used to use to commute into town, as the quickest route. It was a fun and unique experience, once named one of the coolest commutes to work in the world.

Dubrovnik, Croatia

This was my third trip to Croatia, but the first time visiting the beautiful city of Dubrovnik, which’s been on top of my list for ages. Our trip was in June, so we made the most of the clear skies and warm temps in the late twenties. We had the most amazing five days exploring the city and here’s what we got up to on our adventure… Read Bailey’s full itinerary.

Madrid, Spain

This is your friendly reminder that summer’s sunny weather doesn’t end as early as it does in the UK everywhere in Europe… I went to Madrid in November and was sat out in sunny squares with a beer in 22˚C, and it was way cheaper than if I’d gone in peak season… Read Bailey’s full itinerary.

Berlin, Germany

We were heading on an evening flight to Berlin, so the first day didn’t entail of much. However, I was shocked that our flight only took 1 hour and 15 minutes, despite saying it should take 2 hours, so we made it there in what felt like no time! We arrived in Berlin at around 8.30pm and hopped on a train to reach our hotelRead Bailey’s full itinerary.

Sorrento, Italy

The Amalfi Coast has always been on the top of my bucket list and this summer, I luckily got to tick it off with a trip to the gorgeous town of Sorrento. After doing some research, I knew I wanted to head to the Sorrento side of the coast, as it’s got fewer crowds, and I’d only heard amazing things about the town itself. We were spending four days in Italy and I think we perfected the perfect itinerary for this one, so let me run you through exactly what we did…  Read Bailey’s full itinerary.

I just spent 4 days exploring my 61st country, Slovenia, and it exceeded all my expectations – the country’s food, people and landscapes blew me away.
