Hotel Nana Beach

With 5 outdoor pools, 5 restaurants and 2 private coves, the numbers really add up at this whitewashed hotel.

At this bumper hotel, whitewashed buildings step down through bougainvillea-filled gardens towards 2 private coves. On the way, there’s a selection box of swimming pools.

This place doesn’t stint on anything. For a start, it’s got 5 restaurants. Then there’s the huge checklist of bars. And activity-wise, the hotel lays on everything from archery to canoeing.

Not for me and definitely not for disabled

Booked this hotel after looking at the reviews and being told that the hotel is wheelchair friendly , uhmmmm NO. 1 = When we got there we was allocated our rooms and was shocked to find out that my parents for whom my father is disabled and in a wheelchair, were given a room where he had to go down steps and the other 2 rooms were straight forward walk in's,so i easily rectified that solution and swapped rooms which is fair enough. 2 = The next thing we realised was the rooms were situated on a slope from the main building, which was a killer trying to push him up to get to the main building where the main restaurant was located. 3 = If pushing up the slope didn't tire you out the ramps to the restaurant did, they were virtually at a 45* angle just not good enough for a 4 star. 4 = The food if i'm to be honest is the worst i've had at a 4 star not enough variety and seemed to cater more for the german and russian markets. 5 = Daytime activities was good for the adults as there was a daily paper with all the different activities on, but for finding out what was on for the teens and kids there was nothing just a notice where to go if you want to join and guess they have something on which your kids would like, which to me is silly why not a daily paper for them etc etc. 6 = POOLS Main pool forget it,unless you want to get up really early to get a sun lounger and parasol otherwise go to the other pools plenty around then or the beach. 7 = The complex itself was nice, the flowers, how the rooms were made to look like a greek village but on a large scale, really is a big resort. A major point for me is that they had SKY SPORTS on in the rooms which makes a change. All in all would i go back NOPEMore

Fantastic Holiday for all the family

This hotel is great for all ages, especially families. It has a wonderful relaxed atmosphere and the staff go out of there way to help. The whole complex is beautiful and clean with the most wonderful flowers and gardens throughout. The rooms vary so I can only comment on our room '923' this was right on the sea front and was very spacious with plenty of storage. There are fridges in all the rooms and the bathrooms have a great shower facility, we would request this room again next time. The food in each of the restaurants was exceptional and the staff always tried to sit out party of 10 together. The entertainment staff work very hard and put on some good evening shows. There is plenty to see and do in crete, so if you decide to go outside of the complex you will not be disappointed, especially the traditional Greek night up in the mountains, well worth a visit. We will go back to Nana Beach.More

the resort was out of this world. The staff were really friendly and helpful. The food was amazing and the beach is gorgeous. The family entertainment in the evening is very good I will definitely be returning in the futureMore

Great family holiday, nicest beach in the area

Spent two week at Nana in August 2015. Weather and accommodation was very good. Flights and transfers and rep were very good (Thomson). Really nice buffet food, lots of nice fresh local vegetables and fruit. Great pools, lovely beach and amusing entertainment. I would say it ideally suited to families with kids. I would also agree that it is 4* and not 5* but still very comfortable, family atmosphere, no rowdy or drunken behaviour. Clientèle is very international, mostly German, plenty of British, and also Russians, French, Italian, Scandinavian. Minor annoyances: Food is a little repetitive, our English palates would like something spicy on offer like curry or Mexican or Thai. Hotel could do more to help with drinks queues at the busy times of day by moving staff from other bars e.g. beach bar around lunch time, main pool bar in the evening before and after show time, Panorama bar before dinner. Hotel wifi is rubbish. I understand the hotel's ethos that we should be spending time with our family and not on-line, but I needed to be in touch with my work and paid €20 for a 500min block of wifi. 90% of the time it did not work, or was so slow that it took half an hour to do what should have taken 3 minutes.More
