With 5 outdoor pools, 5 restaurants and 2 private coves, the numbers really add up at this whitewashed hotel.
At this bumper hotel, whitewashed buildings step down through bougainvillea-filled gardens towards 2 private coves. On the way, there’s a selection box of swimming pools.
This place doesn’t stint on anything. For a start, it’s got 5 restaurants. Then there’s the huge checklist of bars. And activity-wise, the hotel lays on everything from archery to canoeing.

Lovely break with some disappointments
We travelled to the hotel from the airport by private transfer. When we arrived check in was quick but no drinks were offered on arrival. This is the first 4* all inclusive hotel we have stayed in that has not done this. We were taken to our room 609 by buggy. The room was very small, as soon as the door opened the bed was right in front. No patio doors or terrace just a table with 2 chairs directly outside the door. The walk through for other rooms was at the side. I was hugely disappointed and felt like we were in a British holiday camp not a 4* hotel. We returned to reception to tell them we were not happy with the room. I am an early riser and like to sit on the balcony in a morning with a drink while my husband sleeps in. I couldn't do this without the door shut as passers by could see in the room. We were asked to go back at 5pm. We did we were then told 12 noon the next day. The bed was very noisy every time you turned over. The next day the reception lady said she would show us a different room but the one we were in was standard like we booked. I said there was no photos on any site I looked at that resembled a cell. I did feel she was quite rude. I have never complained at any other hotels but we paid alot for our holiday. The room we got the key for was as the hotel advertised. Airy and spacious with a terrace and patio doors. We were next to the relaxing pool. We happily accepted this room and our holiday began. The staff work very hard. The food is good standard. This is a family hotel but we ate in the part of the restaurant were more couples were. The staff try and keep families separate as much as possible especially in the evening meal. We never had a problem getting a sunbed and there are quiet parts of the hotel if you want. We ate at the Italian. Lovely food and staff. All in all a good holiday near to stalis for a walk out. Having stayed last year in an equally starred platinum thompson hotel in Rhodes this one was not as good but nice. Be warned the airport is like hell on earth no reps and lots of queuing. The first 2 photos are the first room. The 3rd is what we were expecting and eventually got. More
Lovely stay, will return.
We stayed at nana beach from 1st September until the 11th September and it exceeded all expectations. The rooms were very clean and modern and we had a great view of the sea/pool/beach. The hotel staff were very friendly although at times, particularly the towel exchange man, seemed overworked and was quite rude. The hotel layout is stunning, as it is very much laid out as a small village with attractive white, Cretan styled rooms, with small stairways/archways. The facilities were second to none. The food, the drink and the snacks were plentiful. Food was very varied and the trouser rule (for the main restaurant) didn't effect myself, as we enjoyed the beachfront restaurant views and atmosphere more. The panorama bar has an exceptional outlook down the 'main channel' of the complex, looking straight down towards the pool, disco bar and sea back round. The pool bar was always great service, Daniela being very chatty and hard working. I also liked the fact the fresh mint for the mojitos, was picked from the hotel herb bed. The disco bar was also great, particularly at 10:30pm onwards, when it livened up. In terms of things to do, there are many trips and excursions available, either direct from Thomson or book able in many excursion centres available in both stalis and hersonissos. Taxis are very reasonable, although, there are regular buses at the small price of â¬1.80 for a single. Stalis is great for sandy beaches and more quiet bars and restaurants, whereas Hersonissos (although great for an evening meal) is considered to be more lively, with a much younger audience and livelier bats available. The beach was also very befitting for all parties, as there were quiet areas, water sport areas and it was very child friendly as it was very sandy with minimal rocks. Photographs really don't do this place justice. There are many beautiful spots that are t advertised online such as the rock-front sunbathing areas. The gardens are fetching to say the least, with bright, immaculately kept flowers and trees. To summarise; this is a great place with aspects to suit all ages, particularly families and it's easy to see where the fantastic reviews come from and why so many people return. Thank you Nana Beach for a lovely time. More
A little disappointing
We have been to the area before and had seen this hotel so on returning we booked this one. Firstly we did find the staff a little rude sadly and not very helpful when we had ants in our room. All we wanted was a brush to brush them out but were told to wait until morning not good. The pools were very good but sun beds were a little difficult to get around the main pool but there were other pools where you were able to get beds. We had asked for a quieter room but after seeing where lots of rooms were we could have been placed in, it certainly wasnt a quieter area. But that as explained isnt always possible. There was no real fruit juice for drinks or in cocktails, they weren't cocktails they were just mixes of acholol very cheap acholol. The food was very canteen like and the al la carte wasnt any better. We ate out 3 nights as we felt the queues and the atmosphere in the canteens were very poor. You felt very rushed and cramped. We feel sad that we seem to be moaning but we really had wished now we'd booked the hotel opposite again as the staff, food, drinks were far more superior. I always think people moan for moaning sake but sometimes its the little things that make a holiday the not being rushed in the canteens or in the al la carte, not feeling the need to leave a hotel, which is how we felt unfortunately and the hospitality. This was very lacking. We wouldn't return but have booked the other hotel for next year as we love the area and in stalis the creteian people are lovely, accommodating and always happy as we've always found in crete its a shame really as this hotel doesn't give a true picture of the lovely people of crete.More

Didn't meet our expectations
Just back from a week in Nana Beach and I have mixed feelings... After readings loads of good reviews about it, I felt confident booking it with Tui (we paid quite a lot as I booked it only several weeks before going, but I have no problem paying for quality). That's where the problem is for me. The place itself is gorgeous, hat off to the gardeners, it is beautiful and the smell of frangipani is divine. We had a family room which was on the small side but ok. Having a toddler, we only used the kids pool and the bigger pool beside and that was great. Be aware that the 'central' pool has music blaring, but there are several pools to choose from. Despite the signs mentionning that reserving sunbeds was not allowed, most of them were actually reserved early every morning... A good thing with toddlers, you can use at anytime the play area situated in the miniclub which is totally covered from the sun. Now the food... I really was expecting better quality! If you stick to the Greek specialities, you're fine, it's actually good (without being mind blowing). The rest is really cantine like quality but at least there is a wide range of dishes to chose from. The desserts were particularly bad (kind of cheap chemical taste in anything creamy). Oh, and no real fruit juices (you actually have to pay 2⬠for real fresh orange juice!). The cocktails quality was also quite poor, so much so that I ended up drinking only soft drink (cognac lovers please don't try their cheap quality one, it's like drinking parfum!). So to finish, we still had a good time as a family but we paid way too much for what we got. More
Perfect family holiday
We had an amazing time at Nana beach. The hotel is perfectly places- not too far from the airport, at a walking distance from a nice village called Stalida. The hotel and surrounding gardens are amazing, and the entire area is spotless. The room we had (family of 4), was nice. not too small. since this is a family destinations, some children TV ch. could be a nice addition, but we perfectly managed without. The swimming pools are amazing, and the kids had a blast at the children's pool. there is a very nice gymboree for kids- big and, again, super clean. The food is tasty- and found all the time-everywhere! we loved having breakfast and dinner at the restaurant next to the beach. there are 3 A-la carte restaurant , to which you need to reserve a table the moment you arrive (otherwise- no room). Unfortunately, we didn't reserve on time (this is another problem- they don't realy explain things well when you check in), so we ate only at the one of the three (Greek restaurant), which was nice. The staff are very nice and polite. be sure to bring your sneakers- tennis courts, gym and fitness lessons. one comment is regarding signs- this is a generic Greek problem- these do not really exist, not on the roads, nor at Nana. there are a few, but not really enough for such a vast area. i would defently come back, and now for 2 weeks :) great place!More
