The Sunshine Village Apartments are set into a hillside on the outskirts of Hersonissos. From the pool you can look down on the village and out over the Med, and you get the same view from the buffet restaurant’s terrace. The apartments themselves are nice and simple, and come with handy fridges. As for location, Hersonissos’ restaurant strip and beach are about a 15-minute walk away.

Top Holiday

Great hotel great Value.Thinking back on the summer I have to say it was our top holiday,I don`t remember for everything but the hotel was great and clean everywhere..The staff is really helpful and friendly,The whole hotel is look like a fresh oasis, everything clean, and green with flowers everywhere,The room was cozy big and and had some mediterran atmosphere .the food was really nice and a lot, breakfast, lunch, and dinner, but during the day u can find food and all the free drinks, even wine and beers and everything in the poolbar,After there was the bar with Yannis, who is the funniest barman in the world and every night Zsolt make us some program:karaoke, disco, or u can go to Malia great clubs over there fully british streets, but if u want stay closer hersonissos has a great nightlife too .the daytime we just lay around the swimming pool and we had a lots of sport again with kids and with zsolt in the hotel, and sometimes we went to the beach.5-10 min walk to the beach but there was a minibus and Nikos take us there and back.around the hotel there is the traditional village, piskopiano, kotuloufari, for shopping or just go out by night and enjoy the authentic greek nights,we will never forget Creta and we will go back im sureMore

Avoid this one trust me !!

We're do I start this was the most awful holiday I ever been on. We booked as a family of 4 for a short getaway in early September. The staff were really rude except for the reception staff they were lovely and were very nice with providing extra towels etc. the entertainment haha what entertainment it was a guy who provided entertainment when he could be bothered, this usually consisted of darts and bingo woohoo nothing like water fun or other activities. The all inclusive in my mind you should get everything including unlimited drinks food and air con in your room but o no you had to pay 7 euro a night for air con what!! Alcohol was supplied until 10pm and ended dead on the time and entertainment started at 10 you try and work out the logic of this. The rep Zara was amazing she was really good and is a credit to Thomson. The best thing about this holiday was when we was off the resort and visited the towns. Please avoid this one you will be so disappointed trust me I felt like crying when I arrived as it is just not what the brochure described it to be. After fighting with the travel agent for not informing us of cost of air con we have got a refund for the holiday and cost of air con which we are damn right entitled to.More

Not what it could or should be.

Me and my partner had an 11 night stay at the Sunshine Village in September. I always try and travel with an open mind and honestly an open mind is needed to enjoy a holiday here. Reading previous posts gives a fair indication of what to expect. Food is typically below par, with simple things being about the only real option - some is edible, some is not. alcohol is generally not of great quality but at least there is local choice. Coffee is from a machine (Douwe Egbert) so is decent and consistent. The apartment we had was spacious but rather uninspiring and really needed a good clean (bathroom was very dirty, for the last 6 or 7 nights the bedding was not changed but tidied only) and I don't agree with having to pay 7 euros a day for air conditioning on a fully inclusive holiday. The swimming pool area was of a nice size and a relaxing area, but the pool was only cleaned once in 10 days - Shame. The actual complex was nicely thought through, but cutting corners with aspects of the all inclusive package means it doesn't seem to work. There is entertainment on site, 2 pool tables, costing 2 euros each per game!! Both could do with the surfaces / cushions and mechanicals looking at. Also available were table tennis, a football pitch/basketball/ tennis court all rolled into one and also a children's play area - I saw a gym being quoted on the website - there isn't one, They arrange a trip to a gym in Hersonissos itself of which is an extra charge. As for the animations (entertainment guy), I really don't see what he adds to the atmosphere. He is not very friendly at times! He puts on entertainment as and when he can be bothered... When he tries he is OK, the rest of the time I found him to be a little pointless and perhaps even rude. The staff were a mix of good and bad generally, I got the feeling as we were near end of season some were more interested in getting through the last few weeks with little effort . I enjoyed the holiday mainly because of the people we met there. The actual hotel as far as I'm concerned was not what we paid for. For a cheap getaway it would be decent, for all inclusive £700 per person it is a real let down. It has the potential to be a great 3 or 4 star (at a push) stay, it's from my experience 2 star only. Needs food, staff (some of ) and tidiness looked at then it would be much better. I doubt I would return to the Best Western sunshine village. Unless it was dirt cheap, then I can live with negatives. You should get what you pay for! Positives, quiet, nice views, pool area, some of the staff are great as is the rep!, coffee.... Negatives - almost everything else!!More

Please Stay Away!

Dreadful hotel to be avoided at all cost. Not a true all inclusive, terrible food, rude staff dirty pool dirty room that only got cleaned once in an 11 night stay. Alcohol is watered down and only local drinks available with no diet sodas. I have made a complaint to Thomson/First Choice and WILL be getting my money back. Only good thing about this hotel is the rep Zara, cannot fault her.More

If you like food give this one a miss!

I read all the reviews (after booking this break) and reasoned with myself that only people who moan ever put reviews on. Our first thoughts when we arrived were we've made a good choice here! The rooms were really spacious and very clean and well laid out. Towels and bed linen were changed regularly. As it was near the end of the season (closed 4th Oct) there were very few people around but we thought this was advantageous as the pool area would never have coped with a packed hotel. So far so good and then we went for dinner! I am not a fussy eater but the food here was disgusting to say the least. Everything was luke warm and if you didn't eat it a lunchtime then you got it in another form at dinner time! Leave it then and you got it for breakfast. Any leftovers were taken to the poolside bar as snacks for the day. I don;t know how anyone who takes kids to this hotel get on unless they don't mind them eating chips for the duration of the holiday. The pool wasn't very clean and we had to ask a couple of times for it to be cleaned and were told that the week before we arrived you couldn't see the bottom of the deep end! The all inclusive drinks were very poor. We expected local drinks but god knows where they sourced them from and there were no diet drinks available. That said we had a good time, met some nice people but definitely would not use this hotel again unless they shoot the chef!More
