A solid hotel choice but lacks ambience and not in the best location

This is a large, modern hotel in a slightly awkward location being close to Berlin Zoo but about a 12min walk to the nearest metro station.
Our premium room was a good size and included a large bathroom with full-size bath and separate shower. Whilst the room felt modern, there were no bedside USB sockets and no soft closing toilet lid. It did come with a Nespresso machine however and great views from the 8th floor...

A nice hotel in Berlin and good location.
Friendly staff and great service overall.
Menu is limited but reasonable prices for what it is.
Not so good things:
Some broken/loose or light fittings not working in bathroom!
Pillows were it great and swimming pool was too cold for my family to enjoy which was a shame.
I would consider staying again but for the price I would look at the cost of other hotels as well....

I am a regular guest here and have been for 20 years, so the hotel gets it right the vast majority of the time. On the rare occasions where there has been an issue it has been fixed,one can't really ask for more.
I love the location as I find it an easy walk to most places that I want in the western center of the city, Berlin is so spread out that one always need some transport regardless of location.

One of the worst hotels Ive stayed in. I travel frequently and understand that issues can happen, but InterContinental Berlin was a major letdown. The room was dated and poorly maintained: dirty carpet, blocked drain and sink, and a broken shower. I stayed for seven nights but would have left after day one if I had the option.
Charging guests extra to use the swimming pooland even more for the sauna and steam room...

Luxury hotel in good location, 5 mins from Berlin zoo, 10 mins from zoologischer garten train station which connects directly to the airport (though slow, S9 line which goes every 30 mins). Also close to a local Christmas market.
Hotel rooms are great - we stayed in a King Premium room with 2 kids. Spacious, comfy beds (although the sofa bed was small for 2
Children over 10 years). Bathroom was huge and clean.
