Hotel allows strangers to enter your room in the middle of the night.

Beware staying and Hotel President in Budapest! On April 23, 2025 at 2:08 Am I was awakened by a strange man in my room all the way in close to the bed. He was naked except for short pants. Since it was so hot I was sleeping in my underwear and had my hearing aids in the charger. I screamed and screamed at him but he just stood and looked at me. I would first like to say that most staff were very kind and polite. Sadly the hotel in itself was very outdated and not very clean. And many things were either had holes, scratches or just falling apart. Honestly I would skip it as it didnt seem like a 4 star hotel. Also, if you do still book here skip the breakfast as that wasnt very good and there are many bakeries or breakfast places just around the corner for ...

An excellent stay at the President Hotel which is ideally located just a 10 minute walk from the Parliament building.
All the staff were very friendly and helpful.
Especially Suejay (please forgive spelling) the very experienced hard working lady on reception.
I cannot thank her enough for all her help planning our weekend.

Filthy rug, mattress squishy,sink stopper broken depressing. Im with a group and cant walk out. Asking for a refund from tour company. Not sure if I can say more without getting angry. I just got here and it looks like its near public transportation. Lots of inexpensive places to eat....

Hotel is well situated and has some good facilities such as the rooftop viewing area and restaurant. Downside is that its not cheap, our room was certainly tired with damaged carpet and it still advertises a swimming pool despite it having been closed for several years. I was told the gym doesnt open until 10am on the occasion that I scheduled to use it...
