Having read a couple of reviews prior to travelling somewhat concerned at the one stars criticising everything
So to give a fair review
1. The hotel is centrally located giving easy access to the Christmas markets, old town and rail networks
2. The staff across the whole hotel were delightful, polite and could not do enough for you.

The first IBIS Hotel that was a disappointment for two reasons -
i) making their luggage holding service as a Profit Centre; the only Hotel in our 28 day trip across Italy and Switzerland which would not give you and early check in even if rooms are available so that you necessarily use their luggage holding facilities which are prominently displayed at the Check In Counter in a kind of a Standard Utility that you ha...

I like IBIS hotels a lot, and even have their loyalty card as I am frequently staying at those hotels. On a November 2025 morning, I went to Geneva for business and had this hotel booking for the next night. Geneva is a small city so you can make your way around from this budget hotel. But for families especially, be aware that this is very much a red light district. It was quite shocking on my first night to pull back the curtain in my room and realise I was looking down on a shop window with women for sale. Depressing. In very noisy red light district / no in house car park.
In terrible rough area, street littered with prostitutes, and brothels with them sitting in the window. Air conditioning did not work, so we were forced to open window. It was very noisy all through the night of people shouting etc outside.
