Having read a couple of reviews prior to travelling somewhat concerned at the one stars criticising everything
So to give a fair review
1. The hotel is centrally located giving easy access to the Christmas markets, old town and rail networks

The first IBIS Hotel that was a disappointment for two reasons -

I like IBIS hotels a lot, and even have their loyalty card as I am frequently staying at those hotels. Geneva is a small city so you can make your way around from this budget hotel. But for families especially, be aware that this is very much a red light district. It was quite shocking on my first night to pull back the curtain in my room and realise I was looking down on a shop window with women for sale. Depressing. In very noisy red light district / no in house car park.
In terrible rough area, street littered with prostitutes, and brothels with them sitting in the window. Air conditioning did not work, so we were forced to open window. It was very noisy all through the night of people shouting etc outside.
