Telmessos Select

I’ll start by putting the price to one side and concentrate on the basic standards. Regardless of the price people paid to stay here, standards should be maintained, they were not! My following comments are constructive criticism, and say exactly how we found our stay at Telmossos Select and are not intended to put the hotel or its staff down. Check in was quick and efficient, we arrived in afternoon, we knew the rooms were small, not a problem .. the lack of hanging space/drawers is! Bathroom spacious & fine, luke warm water 2-3 days not fine! had to keep reporting it to reception, but sorted out eventually. Rooms kept spotlessly clean by the lovely lady cleaners, nice sheets pillows, bed on the other hand was hard and uncomfortable. No problems with the pool area, maybe crowded in high season though, however had only 1 afternoon out of full week on sun beds as the mats on them were disgusting, very stained, burst zips exposing dirty rotting foam inside, must have harboured more bacteria than a rat in a sewer. That reminds me, what on earth are you thinking management of the Telmessos with the “dump” at left side of main entrance! Loads of empty baked bean tins dripping over a mountain of rubbish on full view at side of bushes, we took a photo of it but decided not to show it, giving you the chance to get it sorted before next season starts. The bar at the pool would’ve been ok had it not run out of gin & tonic, & not being replenished even the branded drinks were sparce, stick to beer or Raki and you should be ok. I was sent into dining area for squash orange ( I asked for fresh orange) to put with my Cointreau, then realised it was just the squash in my glass, barman emptied the last of the ‘Cointreau’ in my glass, but when we tested the end drips it was just water, that bottle hadn’t seen Cointreau in ages! He then put the empty bottle back on shelf and it stayed there all week. Food ...Apart from some of the salad dishes, was boring and unappetising, left overs brought out again next day with different sauce etc. Had fish only once in the week, which was sword fish, it was so hard you needed a sword to cut it, one evening my husband got the lasagne, if there was a teaspoon of meat in it that was all there was, and the pasta was a soggy mess. Desserts look much better, only had a couple. By Thurs we only had breakfast in hotel, ate out after that. Suleyman was lovely, a hard working conscientious man, but could only work with the tools he was provided with, he was always smart, well groomed and attentive, the younger waiting staff however were shabby and unkempt, and gave the opinion they didn’t want to be there, also over giddy that they only had a week to go to end of season, consequently “couldn’t care less” was the demeanour. The Spa treatments performed by Karem and his colleague were wonderful, I had the Turkish bath with scrubs and Indian head massage, full deep tissue massage, oils etc, gold face mask, I came out feeling brand new, wonderful, highlight of my stay and highly recommended! Stayed for six nights to enjoy a rare child free holiday. The whole hotel is kept very clean. Rooms are small but they are perfectly adequate. The food selection was very good with something for everyone. Suleyman and the team provided excellent service. My wife spent a couple of hours in the spa and really enjoyed herself. The hotel is about five walk from the main strip if you want something more lively at night. We would happily stay here again
