Poor service. Tried to charge extra at check in so I when I checked they wanted to charge 179 per night when it should have been 140. Receptionist tried to say it was city tax!!! Paid at check in and then when I checking out they try to rob you again by asking for for more money!
Rooms are basic not luxury. Reception is nice but not the rest of the venue. Drinks are a rip off too...

Its a literal mafia operation. They steal. The lobby is full of prostitues. Never stay at a non flagged hotel in Bulgaria...

Very big hotel. Clean rooms.
The receptionist not smiling at all.
The breakfast not good i was very disappointed. It is a five star hotel. Not big variety.
The croissant and cakes not fresh....

BAD due to cigarette smell everywhere

Liked  · room was good size, bed comfortable, breakfast very good, polite employees, great pool
Disliked  · Cigarette smoke everywhere, including hallways, smoke penetrating in rooms, I had to open constantly the window in the room. Will not stay again here. Tired Five Star - rooms in need of refresh

My first time in Sofia and our business associates booked me a room at the Marinela Sofia.
Plus points:
The grandeur of the Lobby
Variety of restaurants
Excellent breakfast buffet
Great indoor pool and gym
Room for Improvement
Room itself is very dated and not reflective of a five star hotel
Curtains did not shut properly, came off the rails!
Bed is springy, pillows and duvet too flat
