Very big hotel. Clean rooms.
The receptionist not smiling at all.
The breakfast not good i was very disappointed. It is a five star hotel. Not big variety.
The croissant and cakes not fresh....

BAD due to cigarette smell everywhere

Liked · room was good size, bed comfortable, breakfast very good, polite employees, great pool
Disliked · Cigarette smoke everywhere, including hallways, smoke penetrating in rooms, I had to open constantly the window in the room. Will not stay again here. My first time in Sofia and our business associates booked me a room at the Marinela Sofia.
Plus points:
The grandeur of the Lobby
Variety of restaurants
Excellent breakfast buffet
Great indoor pool and gym
Room for Improvement
Room itself is very dated and not reflective of a five star hotel
Curtains did not shut properly, came off the rails!

During our visit to Hotel Marinella, my mother walked headfirst into the sharp edge of a glass door that had been left wide open in the middle of a hallway directly in the walking path. This was not a case of someone walking into a dirty or transparent door. The door was open and positioned in such a way that the edge was facing oncoming guests, completely without warning.

The hotel is 5 stars but the service level is 3 stars. The rooms were cleaned after 5 pm and only after we asked the reception several times to send the cleaners.
In general, the cleanliness level of the hotel is low.
The safety level is low, for example the bathtub is very high and it is really dangerous to get off it after bathing.
The maintenance level is low, for example the equipment in the bathtub is loose.
