Don't listen to the moaners

Stayed here 29th Sept for a week. Iv stayed in flash hotels and paid flash money for them. This hotel is 3 star and cheap as chips. If you want flash don't book a 3 star and then moan! I had the time of my life here, my room was comfortable, the food was nice, warm and enjoyable. The staff was lovely, nadia on reception was very helpful. The pool was smaller than I expected but still had fun. I'd stay here again, in fact I'm already planning the next trip. People expecting luxury for a £2.50 and a Benson holiday hahaha.... Idiots!
The all inclusive hotel where nothing is included!

We've just returned home from a 10 day break at mavrikos. The hotel is in diar need of alot of tlc, our room was a spacious 2 bed apartment with separate kitchen and bathroom but was in need of updating. The wardrobe and drawers had half the handles missing, there was a rusty nail sticking out from the tiles in our bath (obviously not safe with 2 kids under 3) when we complained to the reception they basically said so what do you want us to do. The first problem we came across was that we have a 6 months old and there was no travel cot for her, once we asked they said it would have to be brought from the sister hotel as the don't have one, but this wouldnt be free of charge (even though we paid for our kids in the price of the holiday). Obviously we were unhappy about this so we went to Scott the tui rep to sort this. They charge for towels, air-conditioning and the safe. The pool is lovely but poorly maintained, the sunbeds are nearly all broken and there is nowhere near enough for the amount of guests at the hotel. There is a baby pool which has 4 broken sunbeds and the pool itself is unsafe. There is a games room which our room was directly above so when laid in bed all you could hear was people playing pool, there's also a tired and dirty little tikes play area that doesn't look safe to use either. The food at the place is dreadful, we found ourselves eating out most nights. There's nothing for kids and nothing most normal adults could make a meal out of. Pasta every teatime, and one Greek meal but nothing to go with it. The entertainment team look bored to death, it's the same thing day In day out, bingo, ABBA tribute that the poor lasses have to do themselves. When looking back on the Thomson website It says there's a bar inside which they no longer use so it's just the pool bar that u have to use in the evening too with only 1 waiter serving the whole hotel. It also says there's a mini market which there isn't. The cleaning staff are lovely though, fresh towels every day and rooms cleaned daily. On a lighter note though the hotel is in a brilliant location, only 10 mins or so from the beach, tsivili is a beautiful place with lots of lovely people and bars and we would definitely return to the area. Thomson need to reconsider what star rating this hotel is as it's definitely not 3 star
Really not that bad!

I visited this hotel with my fiancé in June and to be completely honest... it was nice! The food was plentiful and lovely, it was great for grabbing a light lunch and ice cream throughout the day, the salad was our favourite, especially the large lump of feta every day! We didn't really eat there for dinner as there were too many lovely restaurants in the town and all for a great price. The rooms were clean and the price of air con was what you expect and well worth it! We had a mega heat wave so it was needed! The literal only downfall was the subbed situation, that was a bit difficult as it was a long walk to the beach and you can't take advantage of your all inclusive. The hill was really not that bad! I was 6 months pregnant at the time so was dreading it when I read the reviews but it's not that awful, it's steep but short so it was fine! We'd love to come back as the hotel is in a great location and everything was lovely but it's just the sunbed issue putting us off :(
Can not understand bad reviews at all

I stayed in Altura or Mavrikos hotel during the last week of September with my wife and we had a lovely stay. It is not a 5 star hotel so if you do not expect a luxury hotel then you will have a nice time as the two of us did. We were given the top floor room and had a nice view over the whole city with a view of the sea as well. Reaching it was not hard at all since there was an elevator so not problem with that. Staff members were super polite from the check in to the check out. The food was great also and the chef really knew what he was doing - super tasty and not as repetitive as others claim. Consider the fact you are visiting Greece and you ought to try Greek cuisine and not eat the fish and chips every single day. A special greeting to our receptionist from Albania who was super friendly throughout our stay. Cleaning lady was doing a great job with the room and upkeep. Pool is not huge but the beach itself is not to far - if memory serves me right it was about 10-15 minutes away depending on your pace. Only bad thing about the pool were the other super lazy guests whom we would see each and every day at the same exact sunbed meaning they did not even take a stroll to the beach (couch potato at home turns into a sunbed potato :) Basically that meant no sunbeds were available since most of them were utterly lazy and just used the all inclusive offer to the max. Please do not be one of these guests and try to see a bit of the city - it is super nice and cozy - easily walkable and so many nice things to see outside of tsilivi itself. Thank you once again for a lovely stay and best of luck to the staff members - hopefully you will have a great 2018 season :)

Stayed in this hotel from 15th to 26th Sept and it was not what we expected from the first impressions of being dropped of from the Tui coach at the bottom of the rise to the tired look of the decor what little there was of it. The pool looked ill maintained and not enough sunbeds for the number of guests were provided many being broken. We were charged extra for use of the safe 30 euro plus towels for the pool were extra as well as the air conditioning. The room though spacious had little decor no chair, pictures etc . The bathroom had a tiny shower with a concertina door that if closed could not fit a human of any size with comfort so we had to leave it open hence the floor got wet every time, the fittings were rusted and loose. We could hear everything from adjoining rooms and could almost shake hands with the people on the balconies opposite. The food was decent in the main although a little repetitive. The location was fine being a couple of mins from the center and approx 15 mins from the beach. Not the worst holiday and it is a 3 star but its close.
