Best time to go to South Aegean Islands
Sunshine and blue skies are par for the course in the South Aegean Islands. Generally speaking, the hot weather in Kos starts to crank up around May, with things staying warm and sunny right through until October. For full sizzle, head here in July and August, when it’s strictly swimsuits and flip-flops – the mercury often hits the mid-30s. Over on Rhodes, meanwhile, you’re looking at over 300 days of sun a year. Summers are long and dry, with average temperatures in July and August nudging the low 30s. The heat is manageable, though, thanks to cooling breezes from the northwest. As for rain, it’s sunny skies all the way in summer, although it’s wise to pack a mac in December.
