Get back to nature with a holiday to Lake Molveno in northern Italy, whether you’re exploring the shore, out on the water or up in the mountains.

Gorgeous views & activities galore

Deep blue water, forests and UNESCO-protected peaks – it’s easy to see why Molveno is one of the most beautiful lakes in Italy. It’s in the Adamello-Brenta National Park too, so there’s plenty of walking, wildlife and snap-worthy scenery. Spend your time lounging on the lakeshore or swimming, windsurfing and paddle-boarding on the lake. Or head for the heights and catch the cable car to the Pradel Plateau to follow walking routes dotted with mountain huts or tackle the high ropes course.

Go back in time

There's lots of history to explore here too. Visit the Stenico and Thun castles to see rooms filled with art, furniture, weapons and tools dating back hundreds of years. Walk over a Roman bridge, and see Napoleonic forts and WWI trenches. And learn about how people here used to live at the Museum of Costumes and Traditions, which has exhibits on everything from agriculture to music.

Molveno village

Sitting on the north shore is the area’s only village, Molveno, which gave the lake its name. Here, you can wander around cobbled streets and stop at cafés and craft shops to pick up local specialities like honey, cheese and wine.
