Ryanair general flight info
Ryanair Group uses five airlines – Malta Air, Buzz, Ryanair UK and Lauda Europe, so your Ryanair flight may be operated by one of these airlines. If this is the case, you’ll see this when booking. If your Ryanair flight is operated by one of these airlines, you can still add extras and check in like you normally would through the Ryanair website.
If you’ve added hold luggage to your booking, each passenger can check in one bag weighing up to 20kg. Maximum dimensions of a 20kg Check-in Bag are 80 x120cm x120cms. You can share bags between passengers on the same booking. This means if there are two of you travelling and you both have a luggage allowance of 20kg, one bag could weigh 10kg and the other 30kg. Please be aware that no single bag can weigh more than 32kg.
Plus, you’ll be allowed to take one small piece of hand luggage on board. This could be a handbag, rucksack or backpack that can fit under the seat in front of you. Maximum dimensions for hand luggage are 40x20x25cms.
If you’re travelling with an infant (8 days to 23 months), you can bring an extra baby bag of up to 5kg (dimensions: 45x35x20cms) for babies travelling on an adult’s lap. You can bring two items of carry-on baby equipment for free. This includes things like a pushchair/buggy, car seat, booster seat or travel cot.
Additional luggage, excess luggage or special luggage can be added directly through your MyRyanair account. If you choose to add special baggage to your booking, please let us know so we can make sure your transfer is suitable. There’s an additional fee for sports equipment and other large items – for more information, head to www.ryanair.com.
When you book Ryanair flights, you’re allocated a random seat for free, but it isn’t guaranteed that you’ll be seated with any other passengers on your booking. You can pick to pay for advanced seat selection directly with Ryanair – you can do this any time before you fly, but it’s better to do it early before they get booked up.
To select your seats, log in to your MyRyanair account with your flight reference number and the email address used to make your booking. Just so you know, prices for reserved seats depend on where you pick to sit in the cabin. If you’ve selected your seats, online check-in opens 60 days before the scheduled departure time.
Want to select your seats? You don’t need to let us know – you can just go ahead and pick them directly with Ryanair.
For your outbound and return flights, you’ll need to check in online directly with Ryanair and print or download your boarding passes. You can check in at the airport, but you’ll be charged for this service. To check in, create an account or log in to your MyRyanair Portal on Ryanair’s website.
- If you’ve paid to pick your allocated seats, online check-in opens 60 days before departure.
- If you haven’t selected a seat, you’ll be able to check in 24 hours before departure and you’ll be randomly allocated a seat free of charge.
Online check-in closes 2 hours before your flight’s scheduled departure time. Bag drop is open from 2 hours to 40 minutes before the scheduled departure time.
Please note: If you’re departing from Morocco, digital boarding passes are not accepted. You must carry a printed copy of the boarding pass and present it at the Ryanair check-in counter. If you don’t have your boarding pass and don’t have internet access in the airport, you can get your boarding pass printed at the check-in desk for an additional fee.
